Santa Ana in Orange County is a beautiful city that is located next to the Santa Ana River and just ten miles from the Californian coast. Santa Ana lends its name to the Santa Ana Freeway (I-5), which runs through the city and shares its name with the nearby Santa Ana Mountains. This city is also known as the financial and governmental center of Orange County. It has been in recent competition with its fast-growing neighbor, the city of Irvine regarding commercial growth. The climate in Santa Ana is ideal, with warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The warm summers mean a lot of outdoors activities take place as the people make the most of the beautiful scenery that Orange County has to offer. The city itself is very densely populated, with the downtown area being the main arts and entertainment hub. Some of the sites to visit include Bowers Museum of Cultural Arts, Discovery Science Center, Santa Ana Zoo, Historic Downtown Santa Ana, Santa Ana Artists’ Village, Dr. Willella Howe-Waffle House & Medical Museum, Kidseum, Old Courthouse Museum, Santa Ana Public Library, Fairhaven Memorial Park, Santa Ana Fire Museum. In Santa Ana, about 45% of dwellings are single family homes, while the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings.
