Long Beach

Long Beach is located within the Los Angeles metropolitan area with the Port of Long Beach being the second busiest container port in the United States and is among the world's largest shipping ports. The city is over an oilfield with minor wells both directly beneath the city as well as offshore.

The city is known for its waterfront attractions, including the permanently docked RMS Queen Mary, the Aquarium of the Pacific, and the beautiful stretch of coastline as the city was named for. Long Beach also hosts the Grand Prix of Long Beach and has had more music and cultural festivals every year than anywhere else in Southern California. Its thriving dining and entertainment scene includes famed dive bars and live music venues that have launched several notable bands. Another place that attracts attention is Naples Island which is comprised of three islands in Alamitos Bay in Long Beach. The island has a walkway that takes visitors past million-dollar mansions, picturesque bridges, and grand yachts. The housing is so diverse here with many high-rise condominiums, small downtown bungalows, larger single-family homes, and gated communities.
